We’re Denee Bristow and Joss Thompson, the couple behind ‘Chalets In Samoëns’. We first met snowboarding in New Zealand and quickly realised we shared not just a love of the mountains, but a dream of building a life among them. That dream led us to Samoëns, where we now live with our two children, Skyelar and Khione, and our mountain-loving dog, Lhotse.
Chalet Brio has a special place in our hearts—it was originally designed and opened as a chalet by Joss’s parents 20 years ago, and it’s also where we got married, in the very gardens where our guests now relax and celebrate.
When we're not welcoming guests, you'll likely find us out in the mountains snowboarding, climbing, or exploring the local trails on our road and mountain bikes. Whether you're here for adventure, a retreat, or simply to unwind, we’re here to help make your time in Samoëns truly unforgettable.

The perfect place to stay for a group visiting Samoens. Beautiful chalet, with flexible living spaces across multiple self contained spaces that work very well separately or to accommodate a larger group. Fabulous large dining area with views of the valley, cosy living spaces to curl up in on return from the slopes, clean and plentiful bathrooms, plus hot tubs, sauna, pool table……but most of all staffed by a team of people completely invested in making your stay a happy, relaxing experience, with mini bus service to and from the slopes and beautiful freshly cooked food every morning and evening. A flawless holiday experience.
We have been staying at Chalet Brio for 5 weeks this summer and we have had the best time. The chalet is beautiful with outdoor pool, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. The bedrooms are comfortable and some bedrooms have walk in showers or shower over bath. There is enough parking for all your cars. We enjoyed the service by Erika, Christian and the rest of the team. The food was delicious and fresh from the garden. The views from the chalet is fabulous and it is not far to the town of Samoens and the lift station. The owners Joss and Dee are very welcoming and we would be very happy to return. Thank you very much.
We had the most wonderful week at Chalet Brio!! The amazing food, the comfortable room, the beautiful setting, the cute little town of Samoens, all make Chalet Brio a perfect destination for anyone. We can't thank Eden, Tom & Josh enough for the fun, the incredible service and mostly every single delicious meal. And to Joss & Dee and those beautiful kids ... the place is fabulous as are all four of you! We look forward to more visits, and fun at Chalet Brio in the future.
